Equality, a six-time winner and rated 106, is a horse of immense natural speed. His Group 3 Coral Charge victory at Sandown under William Buick in 2023 further cemented his reputation as a top sprinter. He followed that up with a career-best 3rd place in the Group 1 Flying Five at The Curragh, establishing himself as a true Group 1 sprint contender for 2024.

By the dual King’s Stand winner Equiano, Equality is part of a stellar sire line that includes multiple Group 1 winners like The Tin Man, Strath Burn, and Equilateral. Equiano himself has become a useful stallion, with Dark Angel—Equiano’s paternal half-brother—also standing out as a Group 1 winner and now one of Europe’s leading sires.

The dam, Penny Drops, was a high-class mare in her own right, securing black type on multiple occasions for William Haggas. Penny Drops is a daughter of Penny Cross, a half-sister to Celebration Mile (Group 2) winner Priors Lodge, adding further depth to Equality’s impressive pedigree.

We bought Equality at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale and have seen him progress through the ranks. He is currently recovering from a tendon injury, but if he gets the green light from his key scan in April, we are hopeful he will be back in training later this year.
