Andrew Balding has trained from the historic Park House Stables in Kingsclere since taking over the licence from his father, Ian, in 2003, and has firmly established himself as one of Britain’s leading trainers. His first season brought immediate Classic success when Casual Look won the Oaks, and he has since added 2,000 Guineas victories with Kameko in 2020 and Chaldean in 2023. The Park House operation enjoyed a record-breaking 2025, with 194 winners and more than £8.5 million in total prize money, including over £7.2 million won in Britain. Group 1 successes for Never So Brave, Gewan and Kalpana made it a landmark season for the Kingsclere team. 2026 has seen Andrew continue to operate at the highest level. Kalpana has enjoyed a spectacular season, winning the Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot before following up in the Yorkshire Oaks at York. Blue Bolt has also established herself as a star of the stable, winning the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes, Prix Rothschild and, most recently, the Matron Stakes at Leopardstown. Item added another Group 1 success when winning the Juddmonte International at York. Kennet Valley has enjoyed a long and successful partnership with the Balding family, with Group performers including Charles the Great, Flashcard and Tullius. Andrew currently trains Kennet Valley horses including Comic Hero and two-year-old Battleworthy. Owners are always warmly received at the beautiful Park House Stables, where Andrew and his wife Anna Lisa are wonderful hosts at this impressive establishment.

Owen Burrows has quickly become a key member of the Kennet Valley trainer roster since joining us in recent years. Having learnt his craft under David Nicholson and Sir Michael Stoute, Owen took out his own training licence in 2016, initially as a private trainer to Shadwell. Since then, his small but select string has established an enviable reputation for quality over quantity, producing Group 1 stars Hukum, Anmaat and Minzaal, together with dual York Stakes winner Alflaila. Based at the stunning Farncombe Down Stables just outside Lambourn, Owen trains from a first-class private facility with its own stunning gallops. Owners are always made very welcome at the yard, where Owen and his team have created an impressive and peaceful base on the edge of Lambourn, the famous ‘Valley of the Racehorse’. Kennet Valley enjoyed immediate success with Owen through Fair Wind, a four-time winner who earned just under £100,000 in prize money before retiring. His first Kennet Valley yearling, the outstanding Calendar Girl, has since established herself as one of the most exciting fillies to carry our colours in recent seasons. A winner of the £300,000 Weatherbys Scientific Two-Year-Old Stakes and the Group 3 Oh So Sharp Stakes in 2025, she continued her progression as a three-year-old by winning the Listed Dick Hern Stakes at Haydock in August. She has now won four of her six starts for Kennet Valley and has earned more than £305,000 in prize money. Owen's 2025 season produced 34 winners in Britain and France and more than £1 million in prize money, while 2026 has already brought further Listed and Group-level success. Kennet Valley is proud to continue its association with Owen as his stable continues to go from strength to strength.

William Knight has been one of Kennet Valley’s most successful trainers and an integral part of our team for many years. Now based at Rathmoy Stables in Newmarket, having relocated there in 2020, he has enjoyed some of his best seasons, including a record-breaking 40 winners in 2024 and more than £820,000 in prize money in 2025. His modern Rathmoy yard provides excellent facilities and superb access to Newmarket’s world-class training grounds. William is best known to Kennet Valley as the trainer of our much-loved former flag bearer Sir Busker, a Group 2 winner and Group 1 performer who retired in 2025 after an outstanding career. He won seven races and earned more than £660,000 in prize money. William also guided Dual Identity through a successful career, earning just under £150,000 and giving his owners some memorable days at the major meetings. Sir Busker remains at Rathmoy and now has the rather special role of helping to lead the younger horses. William currently trains our two-year-old Persazz, a son of Persian Force who made an impressive winning debut at Ripon in June 2026. His next start at Ascot was unfortunately cut short by injury, but he has returned to Rathmoy and is progressing well. We look forward to seeing him back on the racecourse next year. Owners are always made very welcome at Rathmoy Stables, where William and his wife Emily offer a warm and personal welcome. His Newmarket base provides memorable owner experiences, including access to the Jockey Club Rooms for dinner ahead of stable visits, making a visit to Rathmoy a particularly enjoyable part of the Kennet Valley experience.

Ed has firmly established himself among Britain’s most respected trainers from the stunning Kingsdown Stables in Upper Lambourn. He has built an outstanding record for producing Stakes-class performers year after year, underlining the consistency and quality of his operation. This season has been another memorable one, with Almaqam landing a deserved first Group 1 victory in the Tattersalls Gold Cup before Ten Bob Tony provided a spectacular Royal Ascot highlight with his brilliant victory in the Group 1 Queen Anne Stakes. Alfred Wallace has also added further Pattern success for the stable with victory in the Group 3 Solario Stakes. Kennet Valley has enjoyed success with Ed through the talented Mollie Foster, who finished a superb second in the €500,000 Goffs 500 at the Curragh as a two-year-old, earning just shy of €100,000 in prize money. Golden Brown has continued to progress in the familiar Kennet Valley silks, finishing second in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy last season before gaining a deserved first victory at Salisbury this year. Ed also trains our two-year-old All Angels. Kingsdown Stables is one of the most iconic and picturesque yards in Lambourn, the 'Valley of the Racehorse', and a fabulous place to visit. Ed and his team are always generous with their time, making owners feel part of the journey, and we look forward to many more memorable days together.

Clive Cox is a highly respected Lambourn trainer who has enjoyed many memorable days with Kennet Valley. He took out his training licence in 2000 and has built a long and successful career, producing a succession of top-class performers including Group 1 winners Lethal Force, Harry Angel and Golden Horde. His expertise with two-year-olds and sprinters has been a particular hallmark of his training career. Kennet Valley has enjoyed notable success with Clive, most prominently through Dragon Leader, who enjoyed an outstanding two-year-old campaign in 2023. He won all three of his races that season, including valuable victories at York and Redcar, and earned more than £300,000 in prize money. Following a lengthy rehabilitation, Dragon Leader has since returned to action and remains an important member of the Kennet Valley team. Clive also trains Conscript, a talented but lightly raced horse whose progress has been interrupted by setbacks. We look forward to seeing what he can achieve as he continues his development. The 2026 season has provided another excellent chapter for Clive, with the unbeaten Orthodox producing a standout performance at Royal Ascot when winning the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes by three and a half lengths. The result underlined Clive's continued success with young horses and his ability to develop high-class sprinters. Based at Beechdown Stables in Lambourn, Clive and his team have created a professional, welcoming and successful operation. Owners are always made very welcome at the yard, which enjoys a peaceful setting overlooking the Lambourn Valley.

We are delighted to renew our association with Ralph Beckett, who trains from the stunning Kimpton Down Stables in Hampshire. A multiple Classic-winning trainer, Ralph has enjoyed sustained success at the highest level for more than two decades, with Classic winners including Look Here, Talent, Simple Verse, Westover and Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Bluestocking. His excellent form has continued in 2026, with another outstanding campaign featuring Tattycoram's Group 2 Lancashire Oaks victory as well as Qirat's Group 3 Diomed Stakes success. Ralph is renowned for his patient approach to training and his ability to develop horses over time, giving each individual every opportunity to fulfil its potential. It is a philosophy that has served him exceptionally well throughout his career and one that we believe is ideally suited to developing young horses. We are delighted to be working with Ralph once again and are delighted to be adding another carefully selected yearling to our syndicate roster.

Harry Charlton is based at the historic Beckhampton Stables in Wiltshire, one of the most celebrated training yards in British racing. The yard has a remarkable heritage, having been home to legendary trainers including Sir Noel Murless and, more recently, Harry’s father Roger Charlton, under whom it enjoyed decades of success at the highest level. Harry took over the licence in his own right in 2024 after working closely alongside his father for many years and made an immediate impression, with Hand Of God providing him with his first Royal Ascot winner when landing the Golden Gates Handicap that summer. He has continued to build his own identity at Beckhampton, with Wine Dark Sea adding Listed success in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury in 2026. New to the Kennet Valley trainer roster in 2025, Harry currently trains our two-year-old High Summer, a son of first-season sire Minzaal. Beckhampton combines world-class facilities with deep-rooted racing history, and Harry and his team provide a warm welcome to owners visiting the yard. It is a wonderful setting in which to enjoy the Kennet Valley experience, and we look forward to following High Summer’s progress in the months ahead.

We were delighted to welcome Eve Johnson Houghton back to the Kennet Valley trainer roster in 2025, with our first yearling joining her Oxfordshire yard since before the Covid pandemic. The reunion has got off to a flying start, with Night In Vegas proving an exciting addition to the team and giving us plenty to cheer about this season. Based at the beautiful Woodway Stables on the Oxfordshire Downs above Blewbury, Eve has trained with distinction since taking over the licence in 2007, continuing a proud family tradition stretching back three generations. Her exceptional facilities include some of the finest privately owned gallops in the country. Renowned for her expertise with two-year-olds, Eve has enjoyed success at the highest level throughout her career, including Royal Ascot victories with Accidental Agent and Chipotle. More recently, Zavateri enjoyed a brilliant two-year-old campaign culminating in Group 1 success, while 2026 has brought further Group success with his victory in the Group 2 Celebration Mile at Goodwood. Night In Vegas has been the Kennet Valley highlight, winning four of his six starts including the £300,000 Weatherbys Two-Year-Old Stakes at Doncaster. A huge character and great fun to be around, Eve is a wonderful host who always makes owners feel at home. Woodway Stables is a fabulous place to visit, and we look forward to many more successful seasons together.
