*2024 Persian Force ex Imtiyaaz (SHARES AVAILABLE)
WILLIAM KNIGHT
2024 Chestnut colt by Persian Force ex Imtiyaaz - William Knight
The Kingfisher Syndicate - William Knight
We bought this powerful and precocious looking son of the first season sire Persian Force for 55,000 guineas at the Tattersalls Somerville Yearling Sale which makes him eligible for the Tattersalls £200,000 Somerville Auction Stakes in August and the Tattersalls £200,000 October Auction Stakes in October, over 6 and 7 furlongs respectably.
Persian Force was a top class and very tough two-year-old who won the July Stakes before going on to be placed four times at Group 1 level that same juvenile season. His first crop of yearlings are an impressive bunch and as a son of the top-class sire Mehmas who is out of a mare by another outstanding sire in Lope De Vega, he has a great chance of making it as a stallion.
The dam, Imtiyaaz, won twice herself and was placed twice at Listed level. She was a sprinter herself and is by a top-class sprinter/sire Starspangledbanner out of a mare by another top class sprinter in Green Desert so speed is very much bred to be in the genes! Imtiyaaz has already produced two two-year-old winners whilst current two year-old, Cosmic Clarets, looks a winner waiting to happen. Imtiyaaz is a half-sister to the Listed-winning 2yo Bunker as well as the Irish 2,000 Guineas third, Imperial Fighter. The family has a high ratio of winners to runners and runners to foals, the latter which is a good sign from a soundness perspective.
Luke Lillingston commented: ‘Imagine buying a yearling that makes his two-year-old debut a brilliant winning one in March, and then takes you to Royal Ascot , the July meeting at Newmarket, a Group 1 in Ireland, a Group 1 at Deauville, the Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket and then the Breeders Cup in November, while always being in the money. What a superbly tough sound genuine racehorse – that was Persian Force.
Our colt is from the stallions first crop. He is a very good looking flashy boy who exhibited great energy, enthusiasm and athleticism at the Somerville Sale and came from Ireland’s perennially leading breeders numerically, Tally Ho Stud. He should be a lot of fun next year.’

NEWMARKET, SUFFOLK
RAISE THE STAKES & BLUE TRAIN
William Knight has been one of Kennet Valley’s most successful trainers and an integral part of our team for many years. He is now based at the impressive Rathmoy Stables in Newmarket. Since relocating there in 2020, William has enjoyed some of his best seasons - highlighted by a 40-winner haul and over £740,000 in prize money in 2024, including international success in Dubai. He is best known to us as the trainer of our legendary flag bearer Sir Busker, the much-loved nine-year-old who has been a Group 2 winner, Group 1 performer, and continues to give us great days on the track. William also guided Dual Identity through a highly successful career, progressing from a rating of 70 to 100 and earning just under £150,000, with multiple wins and notable runs including a narrow defeat in the Cambridgeshire and chasing home Sir Busker into second place at York last summer in a memorable Kennet Valley 1-2. This season, Blue Train has rewarded patience with a recent win at Wolverhampton, while promising youngster Raise The Stakes is being prepared for his debut later this summer. William’s calm, professional approach and consistent results make him a hugely valuable part of the Kennet Valley portfolio, and we look forward to more success together in the seasons ahead.
