Golden Brown is a powerful, athletic colt purchased at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale in Doncaster. He showed plenty of promise during his two-year-old campaign in 2025 and possesses the scope and physicality to continue progressing as he strengthens and matures.

He is by Galileo Gold, winner of the 2,000 Guineas and a son of the high-class Paco Boy, from a sire line that consistently produces top-quality performers. Galileo Gold has already enjoyed notable success at stud, including Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner Ebro River trained by Hugo Palmer — who was notably the underbidder on Golden Brown at the sale. Golden Brown’s dam, Dark Acclamation, has already produced the Group 3-winning juvenile Tiger Belle, and the Doncaster vendor confirmed that Golden Brown stood out as a superior physical specimen within the draft — a very positive indicator for his future development.

On the track, Golden Brown shaped with real promise throughout his two-year-old season, highlighted by an excellent second in the Listed Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy. That experience has stood him in good stead this year and he was rewarded with a deserved maiden success at Salisbury recently, confirming the promise he showed as a juvenile.

With his maiden victory now secured, Golden Brown looks set to step into more valuable contests, with plenty to look forward to in the months ahead.
