By Galileo Gold, winner of the 2,000 Guineas and a son of the high-class Paco Boy, Golden Brown comes from a sire line that continues to produce top-quality performers. Galileo Gold has enjoyed notable success at stud, including Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner Ebro River and last season’s Group-placed two-year-old Seagulls Eleven, both trained by Hugo Palmer — who was notably the underbidder on Golden Brown at the sale, adding further encouragement.

Golden Brown’s dam, Dark Acclamation, has already produced Group 3-winning juvenile Tiger Belle, and the vendor at Doncaster confirmed that Golden Brown is a superior physical specimen — a very positive indicator for his future potential.

He has shaped with real promise in each of his starts to date. While a win has so far narrowly eluded him, Golden Brown has been thoroughly progressive all season. His fine second in the Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy (Listed) was a particular highlight, capping off a very encouraging debut campaign in which he repeatedly ran well and collected valuable prizemoney. With his natural ability and continued progression, there is plenty more to come from this exciting colt.
