GOLDEN BROWN
Ed Walker
2023 Bay Gelding by Galileo Gold ex Dark Acclamation - Ed Walker
Golden Brown is a powerful, athletic colt purchased at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale in Doncaster. He showed plenty of promise during his two-year-old campaign in 2025 and possesses the scope and physicality to continue progressing as he strengthens and matures.
He is by Galileo Gold, winner of the 2,000 Guineas and a son of the high-class Paco Boy, from a sire line that consistently produces top-quality performers. Galileo Gold has already enjoyed notable success at stud, including Group 1 Phoenix Stakes winner Ebro River trained by Hugo Palmer — who was notably the underbidder on Golden Brown at the sale. Golden Brown’s dam, Dark Acclamation, has already produced the Group 3-winning juvenile Tiger Belle, and the Doncaster vendor confirmed that Golden Brown stood out as a superior physical specimen within the draft — a very positive indicator for his future development.
On the track, Golden Brown has shaped with real promise in each of his starts. Although a win has narrowly eluded him so far, he progressed steadily throughout his two-year-old season. His excellent second in the Listed Redcar Two-Year-Old Trophy was a particular highlight, rounding off a highly encouraging debut campaign in which he ran consistently well and earned valuable prize money.
With his natural ability, strong pedigree, Golden Brown looks an exciting prospect for the season ahead and there is every reason to believe his best days are still to come.
ED WALKER
LAMBOURN, BERKSHIRE
GOLDEN BROWN & ALL ANGELS
Ed Walker is based at the beautiful Kingsdown Stables in Upper Lambourn and has become a highly regarded figure within British racing. In recent seasons he has built a reputation as one of the country’s most progressive and capable trainers, consistently producing high-quality performers from his West Berkshire base. Kennet Valley has enjoyed success with Ed through star filly Mollie Foster, and he now trains the progressive two-year-old Golden Brown in our familiar silks. He has made a bright start to his career and, although narrowly denied in recent runs, has shown plenty of ability and looks more than capable of shedding his maiden tag before long.
