SIR BUSKER (IRE)
TRAINED BY WILLIAM KNIGHT
2016 Bay Gelding by Sir Prancealot ex Street Kitty - William Knight
KVS
Group 2 winner Sir Busker, is a powerful 8yo gelded son of Sir Prancealot, trained by William Knight. He has now won 7 races, nearly £650,000 in prize money and boasts a top rating of 116.
2022 was a memorable season for Sir Busker, starting with some excellent runs in Dubai including in the Dubai Turf (Group 1) and Jebel Hetta (Group 1), before returning to the UK. After taking his Partners for some big days out in the early summer, Sir Busker was stepped up to 1 mile 2 furlongs and won the Sky Bet York Stakes (Group 2) under Ben Curtis, before putting up an outstanding performance in the prestigious Juddmonte International (Group 1) to finish third behind Baaeed. This horse has given us so many fantastic days over the past few years, running third in the Queen Anne Stakes (Group 1) at Royal Ascot, second in the Sovereign Stakes (Group 3), second in the Celebration Mile (Group 2) at Goodwood, fourth in the QE11 (Group 1), second in the Bunbury Cup and winning the Silver Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot – quite the roll of honour!
Now eight years old and after a serious eye operation in Dubai last spring, Sir Busker would have every excuse to be ready for an easier life, but he has shown every bit of his former zest in recent runs this autumn/winter and looks set to give his Partners plenty more fun this season.
Sir Busker was Luke and Sam’s pick of the Tattersalls Ireland Yearling Sale back in 2017 and once they had seen him they knew they had to buy him; Luke has never been so excited as he was when the hammer fell for this one!
