FAST SOCIETY (IRE)
TRAINED BY ANDREW BALDING
2021 Bay Gelding by Fast Company ex The Singing Hills - Andrew Balding
KVS I
Fast Society is a lightly raced gelding with plenty of untapped potential. He made an immediate impression, winning on just his second start under Ben Curtis in early September 2023, before following up with another victory at Salisbury in May last year. Unfortunately, he picked up a minor injury that day but has since resumed in great form over the winter on the all-weather.
This smooth-moving son of the late Fast Company was purchased at the Tattersalls Ireland September Yearling Sale, the same sale that produced Sir Busker and Flashcard. In fact, Fast Society was bred and sold by Sir Busker’s breeder, John Foley of Ballyvolane Stud—so the deja vu was real when we secured him!
His pedigree is an intriguing blend of speed and stamina. He is the first foal out of The Singing Hills, an unraced daughter of Nathaniel, whose progeny are known for developing well with age. His wider family includes Group performers like The Revenant (QEII winner) and Hazel Lavery, suggesting Fast Society has plenty more to offer as he matures.
Looking ahead, his two big spring targets are the Lincoln Handicap at Doncaster (March 29th) and the All-Weather Finals at Newcastle on Good Friday (April 18th). He handles soft ground well, and if all goes to plan, he could be the type for a midsummer break before a late-season campaign, with a race like the Cambridgeshire at Newmarket firmly in sight.
