Fair Wind is a smart and progressive sprinter who took a big step forward last season, winning twice under the care of Owen Burrows, a new addition to our training ranks. He thrived throughout the year, and after a strong winter, he looks poised for another exciting campaign.
A son of Tasleet, a top-class sprinter himself, Fair Wind hails from a family packed with speed and quality. His dam, Gone Sailing, has already produced five winners from six runners, including Listed-winning Major Jumbo (rated 109) and Uncle Jumbo (rated 96). The pedigree also boasts a clever touch of maternal inbreeding to Cheveley Park Stakes winner Prophecy, which further strengthens his credentials.
Purchased at Tattersalls Book 2, Fair Wind has shown immense promise and could yet climb further up the sprinting ranks. He starts this season off a career-high rating of 94, and if his Goodwood antics were just a blip, there is plenty to be optimistic about. He could kick off his campaign in a 5f handicap at Newmarket on Thursday, April 17th, with bigger targets sure to follow.

Owen is a former assistant to Sir Michael Stoute and was a private trainer to Sheikh Hamdan for 6 years. Last year was his first as a public trainer and a memorable one with two Group 1 winners in Hukum and Minzaal. Fair Wind is Owen's first horse for Kennet Valley.
