Equalised is a powerful son of Equiano, the King’s Stand winner and proven sire of top-class sprinters, including The Tin Man, Strath Burn, Equilateral, and our own Equality. We purchased him at the Goffs UK Premier Yearling Sale—the same sale that brought us both Equality and Dragon Leader.

Trained by Charlie Hills, Equalised comes from an exciting sprinting pedigree. His dam, Electric Mistress, was a maiden winner at Thirsk and is out of a stakes-placed half-sister to the exceptionally fast European Champion 3YO Filly, Glass Slippers. Notably, Glass Slippers is out of a half-sister to our own Bishop’s Leap, who won three of his first four races before being sold to Hong Kong.

Equalised ran four times last season before being gelded and given a winter break. He possibly took gelding harder than some and has taken a little longer to come to hand, but he has strengthened up beautifully over the winter. On the form of his fourth at Kempton last summer, he could prove to be well-handicapped, and as a son of Equiano, he is expected to improve with time and maturity. We’re looking forward to seeing what he can achieve this season!
