DUAL IDENTITY (IRE)
TRAINED BY WILLIAM KNIGHT
2018 Bay Gelding by Belardo ex Teide Lady - William Knight
KVS IV
Dual Identity is a 5-time winner. He seems to love 1m2f at Sandown, but has the speed for 1 mile.
Dual Identity is an attractive gelding who hails from the first crop of the Champion two-year-old and Dewhurst (Group 1) winner Belardo, who went on to win the Lockinge (Group 1) aged four. Belardo is very much bred to be a top class stallion. A son of the leading sire Lope De Vega, he actually achieved a higher Timeform rating on the track than his own father. His dam, Danaskaya, was herself a very fast and precocious two-year-old who earned the accolade of being crowned Champion two-year-old filly in Ireland.
The dam, Teide Lady, is a winning daughter of Sheikh Hamdan’s outstanding Derby winner Nashwan who has already produced the Group 3 winning two-year-old Ayaar at stud to date. She, herself, is a half- sister to the Superlative Stakes (Group 2) winner Hatta Fort as well as a very recent Group 3 winner in the shape of Brian Meehan’s Spirit Of Appin.
We bought this gelding at the Tattersalls Book 1 Yearling Sale. William Knight loved him at the sales and trains him from his base in Newmarket.
