Bunker Bay second again at Sandown

The William Knight-trained Bunker Bay was second again last night at Sandown, his 5th time in the bridesmaid spot from his 12 career starts.

Trying 1m 6f for the first time he raced a bit keenly in the early stages on the undulating track. However up the home straight he began to pick off rivals under Jim Crowley and seemed to need every yard of the trip. He certainly seemed to relish this extended distance and could get further in time. He should have a profitable second half of the season.
